Sindy has been a teaching artist for over 10 years.

Her journey began as a camp assistant at the Musical Theatre Summer Camp at The PlayGround Theatre in Miami Shores, FL (now the Miami Theater Center) in 2009. In 2010, after graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelors in Theatre, she moved to Chicago for an Education Apprenticeship with American Theater Company. In 2017, Sindy moved to NYC for her Masters in Applied Theatre from CUNY School of Professional Studies.

Sindy completed her thesis on multilingual theatre in education titled ¡BE PREBEARED! TEATRO EN EDUCACIÓN – THEATRE IN EDUCATION: A Multilingual Project for Early Learners. She believes in the importance of creating multilingual and multicultural spaces that embrace and include the home languages and cultures of learners. She’d be happy to talk more about it!

Sindy has worked with ages 2 and up, with the youngest and the young at heart. Her work has led her to work with students K-12, early learners in Head Start and Language Immersion programs, housing rights community organizers, and fellow teaching artists.
